The Ten Tenors Stalker

Well, today we actually have walls. We did not have a lot of our furniture since we were trying to stay out of the back hallway since there is a traveling show. The Ten Tenors were in town, a group of attractive Australians were walking around causing the girls a little bit of distress. It was quite entertaining. It was just a run through today since it is Wednesday. The run actually went really well today. I was glad that we were able to break it up the past couple of days. It made this rehearsal feel so much better and so much more put together. We also have a build schedule in place so we can put together our set in time for the show to open. We have the walls up, so tonight we are going to work on putting up the windows in the back with the rigging and base coating the walls. Patrice’s friends Tristan, Ollie, Noah, and a couple others, have been helping out with some of the set. I am glad that there are people who are willing to help us out with this project even though they are not obligated to. While yes, this run of the show went very well, the night itself got a little stressful. Sean Lightfoot pulled me aside during the second act to inform me that there was a suspicious person that they were watching out for that was attending the Ten Tenors in the Bedell. Apparently he had been asking very personal and pointed questions to the female ushers and to other people about them. He also was giving everybody a weird vibe, and I whole heartedly believe that God gave us instincts for a reason and that we should always listen to them. DPS was on campus and alerted, The House manager, Box Office manager, and all personnel were on high alert and watching out in case the situation escalated. Sean told me that he wanted to make sure that none of my cast or designers who were in attendance, were to walk to their dorms or cars alone. That we should go as a group and use the buddy system. Therefore, after notes were over, I made sure that the joking had ceased, and I informed them all of the situation and the steps we were going to take in order to make sure that they were all safe. At first, they thought that they were all in trouble. I don’t normally tend to be that serious, ever, and they all knew that. We tend to have a very joking and lighthearted time throughout rehearsals. So the fact that I made them all be quiet and listen to me, and that Ryan and I were both not laughing, they thought that it was them we needed to discuss. After I made sure that everyone got to their dorms and cars safe, Ryan started getting the paint supplies ready while I taped all the seams on the walls. Sean then came back to inform us that the man had been removed from the show, and had threatened him on the way out when he was escorted off the property. There was a woman in the audience that it had seemed like he was casing and everyone is relieved that she was not harmed. Especially since she was a well -known patron of the River Campus and a very sweet lady, we were all glad that she was able to get home safe. It was just a stressful night for everybody. I definitely go into ‘mom-mode’ when things like this occur, and I am happy that all of my kiddos are safe.
